1.Proposals

Description: Concise presentation

Purpose and medium: Sell the idea to a client or a boss. It is designed for all medium.

Key advice: Target audience, content ideas, resources requirements, costs outlines and timescales outlines. Also needs ideas and explain how they will link and meet the brief. Clear non-technical language.




2.Project Outlines

Description: written document made for the production team

Purpose and medium: give the production team the a clear wording that covers the basis. It is for any type of medium.

Key advice: Details of narrative/content, Resource requirements, Budget limitations and timeline of production. 1 page document that is just filled with information and very in depth, no wasted words. More technical language.





3. Treatments

Description: More detailed than the project outlines and proposals,

 Purpose and medium: Production team use it as reference point. Client also get a much better idea of what the finished project will be, it also available for all medium

Key advice: Make sure it is more detailed than the previous two ideas paperwork, make sure it is expanded from the two ideas, and is only made when confident that the project is going to happen.




4.SWOT Analysis

Description: In a table which identifies what the project already has and what the project could potentially face

Purpose and medium:to identify what the project already has and what the project could potentially face, it is used in all medium

Key advice: Always keep an open mind, be honest, seek advice from other sources or team.










Comes after pre-production research- is the initial planning stage

  1. I can see now that this is 'Proposals, Project outlines, Treatments, SWOT Analysis' - to support yourself further create a SWOT analysis using one of the briefs that we have explored in class.
