Intellectual property rights-
it is the ownership of an idea, this can apply to media such as scripts and tv shows, an example of this is the copyrighting of the stormtrooper helmet.

Libel-
it is the act of non-verbally spreading rumours that are untrue that damages a reputation of another person, this can be applied to tv shows and social media and an example of this is Katie Hopkins tweeting about Jack Monroe, saying that Jack Monroe defaces war memorials, which Monroe sued successfully against Hopkins. The law applies to this as it is a way defamation the a person's reputation.

it is to stop data being given out or used in wrong term and only the owner of the data has permission to give it away, in media this can be from video games and social media, an example would be the information taken from 50 million Facebook users.

if a person has created lyrics, recording, broadcast etc, they get control over how other people use this, in media it is found in magazines and newspapers as well as social media, an example would be Taylor Swift blocking YouTube from using her music.
Slander-
It is the same as Libel, however, slander is spoken to give false allegations about another person, this can be seen on social media or tv shows, an example is when the policeman accused a subway worker of poisoning his sandwich, which turned out to be false as the policeman had a virus.

This can be applied to law as it is a form of discrimination and constitutes to racism by stereotyping.
